No.63

Hey Reader,

April Fools. This isn't the last newsletter. If you were sad though, thanks? I guess that means you actually find these valuable.

Since it is April 1st, that means the first quarter of 2024 is in the books. This week, I want to take you through a free coaching/consultation session.

(If you didn't know, I offer 1:1 consulting to barbers and brands in the industry.)

The Intro Coaching Session

Here is the framework for my intro session. I try to understand what you are trying to achieve. Before I offer advice, I need to understand the big picture.

  1. What is your goal?
  2. How will you achieve it?
  3. What should you do first?
  4. When will you do it?

This intro coaching session is pretty easy. Most people can answer these questions. You know where it starts to fall apart though? The second session.

Follow Up Coaching Session

In the first session, we established your goal, your path, your priorities and your timeline. The follow up session is to see your progress.

Here are the 4 questions I ask in session 2:

  1. What have you been doing?
  2. Is that the best use of your time?
  3. How can it be more efficient?
  4. Are those actions aligned with your goals?

The Problem

When I start to ask those questions, the excuses start to surface. Our actions don't align with our dreams. When we take an honest look in the mirror and evaluate how we have been spending our time, we realize that our actions are not keeping us on the right path.

And then other times, I ask those questions and the individual has been making progress! They take it serious. Those are the best conversations because we can start to strategize how they can fine tune what has been working.

Quarter 1 Check In

Now is a great time for you to check in. Use these questions as a guide to evaluate the first 3 months of 2024. Maybe you've been making progress, keep it up! Maybe you've been distracted, then take today to reset.

Do you want to be featured?

Last but not least, I'm always on the look out for headlines taking place across the industry and would love to feature you.

So, if you are hosting an event or releasing a new product and you want it to be featured in theGuideline, then this form is for you!

Alright, finished with No.#. See you next week!
